Citta was established in 2009 by a group of steel and trading professionals to exploit the advantages of Chinese economy growth. At its inception, Citta was based in Hong Kong and Tianjin, China. Through its relationship with Chinese iron mills, Citta achieved rapid development. 
 
China’s pursuit of alternative iron ore sources to breach the limitation and control from three world iron ore tycoons, presented an opportunity to trading enterprises such as Citta. Following its strategy for ‘low cost products’, Citta established representative offices in India and Malaysia and built relationships with local mines, to satisfy its Chinese customers needs.
 
in year 2010, Citta expanded its product line to steam coal, coking coal,  nickel ore, scrap steel and mill scale.
